PROJECT BRIEF

About Agilus Diagnostic

Agilus Diagnostics, a prominent diagnostic laboratory chain in India and a part of the Fortis Group, operates across 25 states with 400+ laboratories. In addition to this extensive network, Agilus Diagnostics provides a wide range of services, including home collection services, specialized diagnostic tests, and wellness packages.

The objective is to build lasting relationship by using cutting edge technology and users’ data to provide users with an exceptional digital experience that stands apart from the competitors.

Problem Brief

Users face difficulties in selecting and scheduling tests for multiple people at once, with a complex and time-consuming process. There is a lack of real-time updates for home sample collection and report generation, leading to prolonged waiting times at the lab. Navigation during lab test is confusing, and there's limited visibility of doctor availability. The rescheduling process is complicated, online consultations are challenging, and managing health reports and data is inconvenient.

What exactly I did

Design an app to help users to book home sample collections, in-lab tests, and doctor appointments, and manage all their health reports in one place, ensuring it fits seamlessly into their lifestyle and is easy to use daily.

Goals

Primary Goal

  • Simplify the booking process for home sample collections and in-lab tests

  • Ensure seamless scheduling for doctor appointments, including virtual consultations, with clear availability and easy rescheduling options.

  • Develop a secure system for accessing, organizing, and sharing health reports.

  • Implement real-time notifications for appointments, sample collection updates, and report availability to ensure timely communication with users.

Secondary Goal

  • Integrate health tracking with wearables and apps, offering users insights and trends.

  • Introduce loyalty programs and gamification to boost engagement and make health management rewarding.

  • Ensure compatibility with health records and enable seamless data transfer between providers.

  • Provide in-app guidance and support, along with customer support channels for user queries.

Probable Users

  • Who regularly undergo lab tests

  • Pregnant women, Fitness Freaks and Elders

  • Tech-savvy individuals and those assisting their parents.

Constraints

  • Privacy concerns may limit users' willingness to share health information, restricting insights.

  • Older or non-tech-savvy users may struggle to express issues or understand app features.

  • Participants may have varying needs and expectations, making it challenging to identify common pain points and requirements.

Research

Talking to users

Keeping in mind the time constraint, I chose to speak with a few friends who highly health concerns, pregnant women and some tech-savvy. For most, I used a questionnaire-based approach, while a few were more informal conversations.

Competitive Analysis

We aim to enhance the user experience by addressing a prevalent issue identified in similar apps like Apollo, Medi Buddy, and other 8 health care platform. where users often struggle with booking home sample collections due to a complex and unclear process.

Value Proportion and Opportunities

Essential Sign-up/Sign-in Procedures

Simplify the onboarding process to reduce friction and improve first-time user retention. Competitors like Apollo and Medi Buddy offer social media login options for a faster sign-up experience.

Comprehensive End-to-End Test Booking Process for All Scenarios

Streamline the test booking process by reducing steps and providing clear guidance. Competitor apps often lack intuitive navigation, creating an opportunity to enhance usability and efficiency.

Step-by-Step Consultation Booking

Implement a clear, guided booking flow for consultations, including virtual options. Competitors frequently have cumbersome processes, allowing Agilus to stand out with a smoother, more user-friendly experience.

Order Tracking and Management

Provide real-time tracking and updates for orders and sample collections. Competitor apps may offer basic tracking, but enhancing this feature with more detailed and timely updates can improve user satisfaction.

Address and Payment Information Management

Simplify the management of addresses and payment methods, ensuring a quick and secure process. By offering features like saved addresses and one-click payments, Agilus can reduce checkout time, which competitors often overlook.

Family Member Management

Enable users to manage health information and appointments for family members within one account. This feature can differentiate Agilus from competitors who may not provide easy family member management.

Loyalty Points and Premium Plan Subscriptions

Introduce a rewarding loyalty program and attractive premium plans. Competitor analysis reveals that gamification and rewards systems are underutilized, presenting a chance to boost user engagement and retention.

User Engagement and Gamification

Integrate engaging and interactive elements to motivate users. By incorporating features such as challenges, badges, and rewards for health activities, Agilus can increase user interaction and loyalty, a strategy not fully exploited by competitors.
